In case you missed out at last months meeting there was a pretty heated discussion between Charity, MV's representative from Beacon Property Management (BPM) and a MV resident about rats. And over the last month there have been a growing number of MV residents complaining about rats in the walls and on top of roofs. The discussion got ugly because the resident believed that this should be handled by the association since it was not inside her condo; and Charity was claiming that the area in between the walls was our responsibility. The two went at it for awhile and you could tell that neither wanted to loose the conversation. In the end, Charity agreed to have the problem solved ASAP. I have yet to hear anything else about the resolution, so if you know if anything has been done to solve this matter please let us know.
I had forgotten about the rat discussion until I saw a huge rat running up one of my neighbors balconies last night. This was no mouse, or possum, this was a RAT! This problem needs to be met sooner than later or Monterey Villas is going to look like Ratatouille!!!

We had a dead rat decomposing in our attic for months at our last apartment.
The management had set traps months before but like the Ronco Rotisserie Oven, their game plan was to "set it and forget it".
It never smelled in the unit, but hundreds of flies were literally pouring out of the vents one morning...It was like a horror movie; except the flies were dumb and didn't know how to fly–so it turned from horror to comedy real fast.
The rat was probably intoxicated at the time of death so when the flies got to it, it was sucking tequila out of an orange.
You should have brought out your chopsticks and tried to catch one. You know what they say, "Man who can catch fly with chopsticks, can do anything." Wait, then we'd have to change your name to Ralph Macchio so nevermind.
I heard rats behind the walls and on top of the roof. Charity and conferenced me on speaker phone with the pest control to take a look at building D. I wasn't home to meet the pest control contractor. I assume it got taken care of because I don't hear them scratching anymore. So, I"m puzzled about the heated discussion between Charity and another condo owner. Carolyn, Building D.
